Dear Dr. Rashid,
It's been 5 weeks since my PRK procedure and I couldn't be happier. Thank you for being so honest and up front with me about recommending the PRK laser procedure instead of the Intralase LASIK. I was really looking forward to the Intralase LASIK procedure for the short recovery time. I didn't realize that because of my corneal thickness that PRK would be safer for me. Your explanation of the procedure was better than excellent. I was also impressed that PRK is the same procedure you have done on numerous professional athletes and Air Force pilots and that the newest state-of-the-art laser the Allegretto Wave would be used.
By the end of our meeting I understood what "wave-front optimized" technology meant and why it was so important… and I am an Aggie. My wife took me to the laser eye surgery center. I was a little nervous but not as much as I thought I would be. My wife asked me why I was so calm. It was because I knew exactly what to expect and was confident that I was in very good hands!
Truth is, it is hard to remember wearing glasses and contacts. I now see better than I ever did with my contacts. Let me say that again, I see better now than I ever did in 20 years of wearing contacts!
